About Cape Cod Therapeutic Spa

Cape Cod Therapeutic Spa is a massage spa at a mall in the Hyannis area of Barnstable, Massachusetts. It holds a 4.3 Google rating from 55 reviews. Reviewers mention two things most: how tips are handled at the front desk and appointments with a therapist named Peter. It is open 10 AM to 8 PM every day, and the entrance, parking and restroom are listed as accessible.

What Cape Cod Therapeutic Spa offers

Cape Cod Therapeutic Spa is listed as a massage spa, with massage and spa as additional categories. The treatments reviewers name are a 1 hour full body massage and a 90 minute combination of body and feet massage.

Reviewers describe a mix of first-time and returning customers. One had visited four times, and another had booked an earlier appointment the week before. Two reviewers mention shoulder or back discomfort as the reason for booking, and one describes visiting together with a partner.

What customers say about Cape Cod Therapeutic Spa

The listing holds 4.3 from 55 Google reviews, though the five excerpts available lean critical: one 5-star, one 3-star, one 2-star and two 1-star. The 5-star review, from 2 years ago, calls a 1 hour full body massage the best the reviewer ever had, describes the therapist as skillful and says the body felt relaxed afterward.

Tipping is the most common complaint. Reviewers from a year ago say the spa takes cards but asks for tips in cash. One says the receptionist was upset about a tip paid by debit. Another says a therapist followed a customer out to ask about a tip that had already been left at the front desk, which the reviewer found embarrassing.

Two 1-star reviews concern scheduling and assignment. One, from 4 months ago, says that on arriving at 5 PM for a booked hour with Peter, the owner said Peter had an appointment at 5:30 PM. The other, from a year ago, calls Peter wonderful but says a different therapist handled a 90 minute session that left the reviewer in pain rather than relaxed.

Hours and payment at Cape Cod Therapeutic Spa

The spa is open seven days a week, 10 AM to 8 PM, with the same hours on Saturday and Sunday as on weekdays. It accepts credit cards. Reviewers add that tips were requested in cash, so some customers bring cash for that purpose.

Location and access in Hyannis, Barnstable

The listing places the spa at a mall in the Hyannis neighborhood of Barnstable, in Barnstable County, Massachusetts, United States. It records a wheelchair accessible entrance, accessible parking and an accessible restroom. None of the review excerpts discuss parking or finding the entrance.

Good to know before you go

Appointments appear to be the norm: reviewers describe scheduling a set length, such as 1 hour or 90 minutes, and some request a particular therapist. The reviewer who arrived at 5 PM for a booked slot was told the therapist had another client at 5:30 PM, so confirming the time and therapist when booking may matter. The listing shows 5 photos, and the last opening hour is 8 PM on all seven days.

Told me over the to come in I scheduled one hour with Peter I get there at exactly 5 pm and owner then tell me Peter had 530 pm appointment coming in. It was not first time at this place. I had appointment last week. It is very unprofessional and will ever go back to this place again

I went there twice, and both times I had problems with tips. The first time I felt so embarrassed because they work with cards, but they ask for tips in cash only. I barely use real cash! The receptionist was so mad that I gave the tip on debit. Months later I went there again and brought cash. I left the tip in the room when I walked out. The cashier bothered me once again asking where the tip was. I said [where it was], and she spoke in a foreign language with someone before I left the place. Although I didn't understand what she said, it was clear that she confirmed with someone that my tip was in the room. I never came back. The Massage itself was flawless but they are way too aggressive about cash tips. Massage 9/10, Customer care 1/10.

Today was My boyfriend and I,4th time going. I usually have Peter who is wonderful but today Peter worked on my boyfriend. And I had a different guy. I’m very disappointed. I left in pain and not relaxed like usual. I have major shoulder issues and massages help a lot with releasing pain and relaxing the muscle. Not today 90 min combo ( body/feet)massage of only pain and when I said it hurt he didn’t understand me. I also never got my feet done because he did the entire 90 min working my neck & shoulders ( hurting me)&only took a few minutes with my back and legs! Extremely disappoint with service today!

yes, they work hard there but my significant other was there got a massage. Left the tip with the front desk like a lot of people do and the lady that gave him a massage scurried out behind him saying hey no tip, where’s my tip, but he left it at the front desk and she said oh I’m sorry ha ha but that’s just embarrassing and rude to do to chase someone out of the place causing a scene and I’m being serious when I say I’ve seen this happen personally when I’ve been there before myself, so I called the manager to discuss what happened. He said well they do good work and we’re just trying to explain to people that they have the option to leave a tip & said I’ve personally went after people just to let them know that they can leave tips and he said it doesn’t happen all the time and I said well I’ve seen it. My significant other just told me what happened to him and you’re telling me you’ve done it then that’s clearly happening all the time and then he said I don’t know what to tell you & hung up on me and I didn’t bother calling back. It’s just completely rude to handle things this way.
